NCG is seeking an experienced communications professional to lead storytelling and reporting for our Food Co-op Impact Survey (FCIS), annual Ends & Impact Reports, and advocacy initiatives.

This position will manage multi-audience communications plans, craft newsletters, articles, technical guides, and social media content, and oversee internal and external stakeholder reviews. This is an ideal position for those passionate about sustainability, co-op impact, and engaging diverse audiences through clear and compelling communications.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead annual Food Co-op Impact Survey (FCIS) communications by overseeing the yearly review and update of the multi-audience communications plan as well as all FCIS and Co+efficient technical resources. Coordinate rollout according to timelines and incorporate insights from co-op webinars and feedback to continuously refine messaging and resources.
- Manage the team’s contributions to NCG’s annual reporting by evaluating survey results to draft copy for the annual Ends and Impact Reports and manage review with internal stakeholders to ensure accuracy and alignment for final publication.
- Develop advocacy communications for NCG co-ops, crafting a variety of content including newsletters, articles, FAQs, technical guides, signage, templates, and ghostwritten scripts and emails aligned with communications plans set by the Advocacy Senior Manager.
- Oversee the full communications workflow, conducting independent research, coordinating reviews with internal and external stakeholders, managing publication with the NCG Marketing Team, and tracking audience engagement to inform continuous improvement.
- Manage the team’s contributions to NCG’s social media, including collaborating with the NCG Marketing Team to identify suitable content for posting or reposting, monitoring advocacy partners’ channels as directed, drafting content as needed, coordinating posting and publication, and tracking engagement to inform continuous improvement.
- Manage advocacy communications for NCG staff, including drafting content for internal newsletters as directed, managing the multi-stakeholder review process, and coordinating submissions according to the NCG Marketing Team’s timeline.
- Support NCG’s charitable donations and other contributions including vetting prospective recipients under the Advocacy Senior Manager’s direction; coordinating internal and external review of press releases; managing swag donations; calculating NCG’s total annual contributions with the Finance Team; and drafting and leading the annual Contributions Report through stakeholder review.
- Support the Advocacy and Sustainability Team’s virtual and in-person engagements which include scheduling meetings with external audiences (e.g., via Microsoft Teams), drafting event-related communications, posting event announcements on NCG’s website, preparing and sharing meeting minutes, and collaborating with the People & Culture Team to post recordings and related content to Co+op U.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in communications, English, journalism, public affairs or related field.
- Minimum five years’ experience coordinating review and publication according to established communications plans/processes.
- Minimum three years’ experience independently coordinating a project or process.
- Minimum two years’ experience conducting research, fact-checking, evaluating and identifying credible sources of information.
- Minimum one year’s experience in copywriting, technical writing, or other professional writing.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word.
- Up to 10% of business travel is required, including overnights and weekends.

The salary for this position is $105,855.
Workstation Options
- Home Office (Contiguous U.S.): Eligible if within 100 miles of a major airport and has sufficient internet bandwidth and mobile phone service.
- St. Paul, MN Office: Workstations available at 2610 University Ave W, with free parking and access to the Green Line Light Rail (Westgate Station).
