- Product & Subscription Marketing Manger
Description
The Marketing Manager will lead marketing strategies to grow and retain our subscriber and member base while also driving sales for single-issue products such as books, on-demand trainings, and compensation reports. This role is responsible for overseeing the entire subscriber journey — acquisition, onboarding, engagement, renewals, and lapsed campaigns — as well as product positioning, promotion, and cross-selling initiatives.
This is a revenue-focused role, accountable for meeting subscription, membership, and product sales targets. The Marketing Manager will collaborate closely with editorial, product development, and sales teams to ensure consistent messaging, effective campaigns, and a seamless customer experience.
Requirements
Key Marketing Responsibilities
- Create and run marketing plans to attract new subscribers and members and to keep current ones engaged.
- Develop campaigns that welcome new subscribers, encourage renewals, and bring back lapsed customers.
- Market single-issue products like books, reports, and training, making sure each has clear positioning and promotion.
- Manage email, social media, digital, and print campaigns that highlight our products and subscriptions.
- Use tools like Salesforce Marketing Cloud to segment audiences, personalize messages, and track results.
- Manage and support a Marketing Coordinator to make sure projects are completed on time and to a high standard.
- Partner with the sales team to share leads, create useful materials, and support them in reaching sales goals.
- Work with editorial and product development teams to make sure marketing messages reflect the true value of our products.
- Test pricing, promotions, and messaging to see what works best in driving sales.
- Track results and subscriber data, share what’s working (and what’s not), and adjust campaigns as needed.
- Look for opportunities to introduce current customers to other products or services they might find valuable.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in subscription, membership, or product marketing.
- A track record of running marketing campaigns tied to revenue or sales results.
- Understanding of how to manage customer relationships over time (from acquisition to renewals).
- Comfortable working with email marketing and CRM tools (Salesforce experience is a plus).
- Ability to analyze results and use numbers to guide decisions.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle several projects at once.
- Clear and effective communicator with solid writing skills.
- Familiarity with the association industry or membership organizations is a plus.
- Design skills (like Canva).
- Experience with creating and implementing digital advertising campaigns (familiarity with Feathr, is a plus).
- A problem-solver who looks for better ways to do things.
